Eagle Series Computer

Eagle series computers are designed to take full advantage of Alpha Micro's popular Roadrunner

technology. There are three basic models that make up the current Eagle series: the 100, 250, and 450.

There are also the 300, 400, 500 and 550 models, which are older configurations replaced by the 250 and

450 models. Here's a brief introduction to the Eagle series lineup:

Eagle 100

The Eagle 100 is a single board computer based on a main electronics board called the AM-137. The AM-

137 board includes all the circuitry found on Alpha Micro's AM-172 Roadrunner board; it also includes

eight on-board DB9 RS232 serial ports, one additional I/O expansion connector, and one parallel port.

The Eagle 100's I/O expansion connector supports AM-314, AM-318, and AM-318-10 serial I/O boards,

as well as the AM-366 Ethernet board and the RJE Board.

Eagle 250

The Eagle 250 is a single-board computer based on Motorola’s Coldfire CPU chip, which is contained

on the AM-138-10 main electronics board. In addition to the Coldfire processor, the AM-138-10 includes

eight on-board RS-232 serial ports which can be configured with either DB-9 or RJ-45 connectors, three

additional I/O expansion connectors, two SIMM memory connectors, one parallel port, a UPS connector,

and 10BaseT Ethernet support.

The Eagle 250’s I/O expansion connectors support AM-314, AM-318, and AM-318-10 serial I/O boards.

Eagle 250LC

The Eagle 250LC is a fixed 4-user version of the Eagle 250LC. It includes an AMOS 4-user operating

system license, which can be expanded, but only via TCP network connections. No I/O expansion

capability is supported on this system version.

Eagle 300

The Eagle 300 is based on the DWB-00319-00 board and can be ordered with either an AM-172 or AM-

174 Roadrunner board. The Eagle 300 includes four I/O expansion connectors, Ethernet support with both

standard and 10Base-T connectors, one SIMM memory connector, and two high speed parallel ports.

The Eagle 300's I/O expansion connectors support AM-314, AM-318, and AM-318-10 serial I/O boards,

as well as the RJE board.

Eagle 400

The Eagle 400 is created by installing an AM-174 66MHz Roadrunner board into an Eagle 300 computer,

in place of the AM-172 Roadrunner board.
